Stevenage Constituency Labour Party Working all year round for Stevenage
Introduction:
On Thursday 19th January there will be a By-Election in Bedwell to decide who will be the next councillor for the ward.
Labour are proud to have have selected one of our own, Conor McGrath.
Conor has Stevenage in his DNA, having lived in Bedwell all his life. He spends his time embedded in the local community, and is proud to run The Poacher Pub which has been supported by generations of his family since 1993.
His voluntary work includes supporting our community centre and being a governor at Bedwell Primary school. In his free time, he enjoys socialising, exercise and footy.
Words from your candidate:
“Dear Neighbour, I am asking for your support on 19th January to elect one of your own to represent Bedwell.
I’ve lived here all my life and am proud to run The Poacher Pub. As a governor at Bedwell Primary school and a volunteer for local groups and charities, I can bring people together.
Bedwell is a fantastic area with so much talent and opportunity. My aim is to make sure our people unlock their aspirations.
My priorities are clear: support residents during the cost of living crisis, work hard to tackle crime and deliver a cleaner, greener Bedwell. I’m on your side.”
Conor’s Pledges:
1) Support residents during the Cost Of Living Crisis
The Tories crashed the economy, leaving us with soaring costs. I’ll work tirelessly to ensure residents can get access to support.
2) Work hard to tackle crime in our community
I’ll bring together police and neighbourhood groups to start tackling drug issues and anti-social behaviour in the area.
3) Deliver a Cleaner, Greener Bedwell for all
I’ll bring action teams to Bedwell to clean up litter and flytipping whilst supporting improvements to our parks.
