Candidates are putting themselves forward to be Labour’s parliamentary candidate for Stevenage at the next general election.

The general election will be held no later than Jan 2025, and the winner of the Stevenage Labour selection will get the chance to run against a Conservative incumbent MP.

Applications closed last Friday, and candidates will now face a series of vetting, including a longlisting due diligence process, candidate interviews by a local panel and a hustings on November 12th for the final competitors. Local party members will then get to vote on their preferences out of the remaining options, and the winner will get the selection!
