Today we came together for a Women’s Forum with a difference! It was all about creating a piece of art for International Women’s day next month. But before the art, we began our session with a much appreciated update from our PPC Jill Borcherds on Barclay School’s move to Academy status and what was happening after such a courageous stand against it. We then moved on to our art activity which was introduced by Anji Archer and Tina Culverhouse, two local artists who helped to create the idea of making flowers to place on a wreath. Both Anji and Tina were involved in creating the Suffragette Stories Video commissioned recently for Stevenage Museum and shown at our previous Forum.
Though a few members appeared a little daunted by the prospect of making something, as you’ll see, all seemed to enjoy having a go and the end product, I think was worth it. So, thanks to all for their efforts. I look forward to seeing them next month for our special Women’s International Day which we will celebrate on Saturday 9th March with a visit to Lady Constance Lytton’s Mausoleum. Enjoy the pictures.
