JIM BROWN, Labour Councillor for the Old Town led the move against the change of use to permit the massive plan to build on the site.
“The proposals offer housing that is neither “sustainable” nor “affordable.”
“The Local Plan designates this site as an existing employment site. Continuing it as such offers thousands of people living within a kilometre of this site and opportunity to walk to work rather than spend hours each day driving or on a train. Less commuting would be good for our environment and good for our community life and families.”
