Local and other elections will be held on May 6th, 2021. The electoral office may already have contacted you but please check you’re registered to vote – don’t just assume that you are (although all Labour members really should be already). Register now to vote.
If you’ve moved house recently, you need to re-register at your new address.
If you’re turning 18 before May 6th 2021 you can register now. As you can register as soon as you turn 16, there’s no need to wait though you do need to be 18 to vote.
If you’re a student, you may be able to register to vote at both your home address and your term-time address. Please make sure that you have registered in both, so that you can decide where’s best to vote Labour.
If you are worried about standing in queues at the polling station, you can also apply for a postal vote . During the ongoing coronavirus epidemic you may find this an attractive option especially if you are shielding or just don’t want to taks a risk. Its easy to apply and you can choose to use a postal vote for all future elections if you wish.
Need help? Contact the team at your local council who are responsible for electoral registration. They can tell you if you’re on the electoral register, or if you’ve registered for a postal or proxy vote.
