Nazmin Chowdhury for Bedwell
Labour and Cooperative Party candidate for Bedwell Ward, Stevenage
I moved to Stevenage as a young girl in 2004, attending Collenswood (now Barnwell) School, followed by The Nobel School for my A-levels. I graduated in Law from the University of Hertfordshire and am currently training to qualify as a solicitor. I have also had the opportunity to be a pharmacy dispenser, radio presenter, and community connector for Stevenage World Forum, which I never would have been able to do so without the kind and compassionate people who supported me relentlessly.
I would like to bring my experience of working in community services and the legal profession to the table and push for a fairer future for us all. Bedwell is a beautifully diverse area and I want to break barriers that are stopping people from progressing. As a young professional from Stevenage, I am passionate about creating opportunities which are inclusive and accepting of everyone. I love living in Stevenage and want to see local people benefit from the new jobs and opportunities linked to the regeneration of the town centre and the technology industries locally.
I have always worked collaboratively, and would be guided by the voices of local residents in tackling the issues that matter to you. Whether it’s creating safer neighbourhoods, improving our local environment, or building affordable housing, I will always be working in your interests to deliver the best for our community.
