Contact Lloyd Briscoe for Martins Wood

Martins Wood is special to me. Special, I suppose, because of its uniqueness. Despite having the smallest geographic boundary in Stevenage, it is the most densely populated.

I think that’s what gives it such a great sense of community. People looking out for each other and caring about each other.

It has been my honour to have served the Martins Wood community as one of its Borough Councillors for almost eight years, and I hope to do so again.

Many of you know me as the chair of the Stevenage FC Supporters’ Association. You may also know me as the former chair of Governors at the Barclay School. Some of you may know me as being involved in youth football in the town for over 20 years. And some of you may know me as the Portfolio Holder for Enterprise, Economy and Transport for the Council – working hard to bring prosperity to Stevenage.

I love this town – our town.

I remember when I was younger, those who knew no better derided Stevenage “New Town”.

Well, they don’t anymore.

Our town has now come of age, and it’s recognised as being in the top 25 of the happiest places to live in the UK.

It’s a great place to live, and I want to ensure that Martins Wood plays its part in that keeping it that way. With your help and support, we will make it happen.
