A prosperous, caring and socially just
county for all our residents.

For the last 4 years the County Council Labour Group has done its best to hold to account a majority Tory Council often reluctant to take on its own government over the most serious of issues: For us they have included massive cuts in funding for schools and meeting the special needs of children who need extra care and attention. They have failed to make progress on desperately needed reforms to adult social care, made a painfully slow response to the Climate Emergency. They have introduced highway repairs and speed policies which fall short of any needs of the local population. They have been dragged into recognising the needs of diverse communities who have been most damaged by the Covid-19 Pandemic through 2020. It has been my privilege and pleasure to lead this talented and dedicated group of Labour Councillors for the last 4 years, but now we must do more. So here we set out clearly and with total commitment what a Labour Hertfordshire County Council would do to improve the lives of all our 1.2 million citizens from 2021-2025 .
