Conor McGrath
Labour and Cooperative Party Candidate for Herts County Council (Chells Division)

Hello, my name is Conor McGrath, and I’m standing for Labour in the Chells Ward for Hertfordshire County Council Elections.
Stevenage is my home town, my dad moved here over 27 years ago to run the Poacher Pub and we are very proud to still be running it as a family business today. I live in the town with my Wife and two year old son & we’re very lucky to have many great friends and family nearby.
I am new into politics, but we all have to start somewhere. During the pandemic, I was watching the news as much of us did, and it intrigued me. I want to help others, to be the voice of others & to stand up to the challenges that we all face. Where else better to do that than in the town that I love.
My pledge to the people of Chells is this. I will always stand by you and make sure your voice is heard, no matter how small. I have spoken to residents of Chells and been told that there are insufficient services for young people, bus services cuts and safety concerns around the street lights having been switched off. Stevenage Labour have tirelessly fought on these issues, The Tory County Council are not listening. We need a Labour County Council for Hertfordshire to change this.
I am asking for your vote on 6th May so that I can make a real change for the people of Chells and be the strong voice you need in County Council for families and local businesses and residents.
