Allen Brown
Labour and Cooperative candidate for Woodfield

I have been a Stevenage resident for over 66 years. I was educated at Heathcote school, where I also served as a governor for thirteen years. I ran the independent Shephall Express bus company before I retired. I have also been a Director of Stevenage Credit Union and served on the committee of my church and the Stevenage Air Scouts
If privileged enough to be elected, I vow to represent the interests of all residents and will be particularly active in the following areas:
- The threat to Forster Country is a direct result of the Conservative government forcing the need for a local plan on local authorities, whilst also relaxing the rules for building on the greenbelt. Whilst recognising the need for new housing, I will work to ensure that any development is not out of character with our environment
- I will defend this ward’s prize asset – Lister hospital – from the threat of privatisation
- I will look to hold Herts County Council to account for the state of the roads in Woodfield
- I will campaign to switch our street lights back on while we look for cost effective, environmentally friendly alternative lighting
