Yvette Cooper MP visits Stevenage Labour Party

Yvette Cooper joined Stevenage Labour Party today to support candidates standing for local council elections on Thursday 5th May.

Ms Cooper, MP for Normanton, Pontefract and Castleford, met candidates and supporters at the local Labour Party offices before heading out in Pin Green to speak to residents on Tuesday.

Thirteen council seats are up for grabs in Stevenage on Thursday 5th May. Asked about Labour's chances, Ms Cooper was upbeat:

“Stevenage Labour run council is doing a great job in really tough circumstances - continuing to deliver vital services despite the scale of Tory Government cuts. Stevenage Labour councillors are standing up for the local community - especially on housing, jobs and the town centre regeneration. I think their local hard work will pay off on Thursday, but we need everyone to come out and vote.”
